ACG Tauranga’s most talented dancers hit the stage earlier this month to compete in the much anticipated DanceNZMade interschool regional championships.
The high-octane event brought 12 hours of dance, energy and passion to Tauranga’s Baycourt Community & Arts Centre, as students battled it out for prizes, awards, and the opportunity to represent their school in the national finals later this year.
Principal Thea Kilian was impressed and inspired by ACG Tauranga’s performance.
“Our girls committed to every single step with confidence and passion, making their message so much more powerful,” she says.
The school entered a Junior and a Senior team in the event, with both teams placing second runner up in their divisions. Dance teacher Dani Miller believes the results were a fantastic achievement.
“DanceNZMade was a great opportunity for ACG Tauranga dancers to see what the competition was all about, experience workshops in new dance genres and be inspired by other local schools,” explains Dani.
“It was so exciting to see our dance students step on stage for the first time, they’ve worked so hard and the results were testament to their outstanding efforts.”
