A farewell from Mr Hutchinson

As a school, we have worked hard every day to create our own history and reputation and I am sure the next few years will be bright for the entire school community.

It is now time for me to sign off on my ACG Tauranga journey. My family and I have been a part of the ACG Tauranga community for only three years, but during this time we have been wonderfully supported and nurtured. We will never forget the people we have worked with and shared laughs with.

As a school, we have worked hard every day to create our own history and reputation and I am sure the next few years will be bright for the entire school community. I am grateful for the opportunity to return to ACG and work for an organisation that so proudly believes in challenging and empowering students.

I would like to thank ACG Tauranga teachers for being so supportive, caring and compassionate. I have been blessed with opportunities to visit their classrooms and see how they ‘go the extra mile’ for every student in their care. I have valued their friendship and support over the past three years.

I wish Ms Thea Kilian all the very best in her new role as principal, and I leave knowing that under her leadership the school will flourish.

It has been a pleasure to lead ACG Tauranga since October 2015 and, together with foundation staff members and new appointments, the school has grown steadily and continues to build a reputation as an academically focused education option for families seeking personalised care and a nurturing environment.

On behalf of my wife Mayumi and daughters Lina and Mei, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and guidance over the past three years. The Bay of Plenty is a beautiful part of the world and we will remember our time here fondly. Most importantly, we thank you for the way in which we were welcomed into the community.

— Shawn Hutchinson
