Angela is passionate about learning and teaching languages. She completed a Spanish and French double major for her Bachelor’s degree. As part of her undergraduate degree, she studied at the VOX Institute in Madrid, Spain. After graduating she began her teaching career as the sole teacher of Spanish at King’s College in 2000. After four years of teaching and working as a House Tutor, she embarked on 13 months travel throughout Latin America and Europe. She returned to New Zealand with a deeper understanding of Hispanic culture and many memories to share with her students.
Angela was appointed Spanish Curriculum Coordinator at ACG Strathallan in 2005. In 2008 she travelled abroad to the UK via Asia and Europe to continue her teaching career in London. Angela spent five years teaching in London and was Head of Spanish at a girls’ grammar school in Surrey. She has five years experience teaching the Cambridge GCSE and A-Level Spanish courses and exposure to CIE courses from her time at King’s College.
Angela considers herself a lifelong learner. She began teaching ESOL to adults in 2015 and enjoys exploring the pedagogical links between teaching different languages. She provides a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment and considers rapport with students to be of paramount importance.
Angela’s passions include travel, yoga, hiking and salsa dancing. Angela is excited to be back in her hometown and enjoys spending weekends with her family.
