Ben Howell

Physical Education, Health and Sport

Ben has over ten years’ experience in the physical and outdoor education industry as a specialist in adventure recreation and corporate events. His passion for education led him into school teaching, where his enthusiasm and desire to provide top-quality programmes has enabled his students to achieve multiple national awards. His successes in teaching Business and Enterprise lead him to be awarded North Auckland Lions Foundation Teacher of the Year.

Ben uses sports and the outdoors to provide quality educational experiences that ensure students are active, challenged, engaged and continually developing. He models his beliefs through personal challenge, frequently undertaking his own adventures such as an Arctic expedition to Greenland, a rock climbing expedition through South East Asia, hiking the length of the South Island and a sailing voyage from New Zealand to South America.

Ben holds a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education from Tauranga’s Bethlehem Tertiary Institute and a Bachelor of Outdoor Education and Adventure Recreation from Christchurch.
