Kelly Hayward

Arts

A passionate and experienced teacher and musician, Kelly launched her teaching career at Otumoetai College in 2006, spending five years as a Year 9 to 13 classroom teacher, Dean and Musical Director. She then went on to pursue other musical endeavours including teaching piano, playing in bands, song writing, and recording two albums with her husband which have both won Tui awards for best New Zealand Gospel album of the year in 2014 and 2017.

Kelly joined ACG Tauranga as a founding teacher in 2015. She finds great satisfaction and enjoyment in building the Performing Arts area of the school, watching it develop and expand as the school grows. Fostering a love and enjoyment of music in her students, one of her greatest rewards is seeing students reach their full musical potential.

Kelly holds a Bachelor of Media Arts in Commercial Music from Wintec and a Postgraduate Diploma in Secondary Teaching from the University of Waikato.
