Nicky is an experienced teacher who worked at secondary schools in Auckland and Hamilton before heading overseas to teach at international schools in Vietnam and Cambodia, including three years at ACG Vietnam. While in South East Asia, she gained experience in teaching IGCSE and A Level Humanities courses as well as International Baccalaureate. She has held a range of roles including Head of Department and Pastoral Care coordinator.
Nicky is passionate about encouraging students to strive for personal excellence in all facets of their lives, while developing a love for Humanities. Helping students to see the links between the course content and the real world is a key driver in her approach to teaching Humanities. She is especially interested in service as a component of education and developing links between students and their communities. She has facilitated Interact clubs, led house building trips and developed links between her schools in South East Asia and local children’s homes to teach children to swim.
Nicky holds a Bachelor of Arts from Massey University with a triple major in Economics, European Studies and German. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma of Secondary Teaching from the University of Waikato.
