  • What is the curriculum at ACG Tauranga?

    ACG Tauranga is proud to be part of a worldwide network of schools that offer the Cambridge Pathway.   • How long is the school day at ACG Tauranga?

    School starts at 8:30am. Students in Years 7 to 12 end the day at 3:15pm, whilst Primary School students in Years 1 to 6 finish a little earlier.

  • How can students travel to School?

    ACG Tauranga School buses run from Mount Maunganui, Te Puke, Katikati and Rotorua.

  • What extension opportunities are available for my son/daughter at ACG Tauranga?

    In Years 1 to 4 extension grouping is offered in Literacy and Mathematics. In Years 5 and 6 extension activities and programmes include such things as: Maths Achievement Challenge, Otago Problem Solving Mathematics and an extension Writing group.

  • What academic support is available for my son/daughter at ACG Tauranga?

    Teachers at ACG Tauranga are specialists at differentiating their teaching programmes to meet the learning needs of all students. Additional one-on-one tutorials or extra work may be given in order to help a student overcomes weaknesses within a subject. 

  • Is there a uniform at ACG Tauranga?

    Yes there is a school uniform and it is available for purchase from the ‘NZ Uniform Shop’ in Tauranga or Rotorua. The uniform aims to be suitable for all seasons and all occasions by the use of woolen pullovers and blazers.

  • What is myACG?

    myACG is an online system for students and parents. It is powered by the Blackboard Learn platform. All ACG Tauranga students are enrolled in courses, which are designed to supplement classroom learning. Course outlines, grades and a variety of learning resources are posted by teachers on these courses. A separate course is also available for parents of students at ACG Tauranga. Important notices and details of events in the School are provided in this course. Students and parents are encouraged to check myACG regularly.

  • Are there scholarships available?

    Yes, there are Academic, Sports and Arts Scholarships, Sibling Scholarships, and the ACG Founders Scholarship. ACG Tauranga Academic, Sports and Arts Scholarships are awarded to cover costs of academic tuition for students in Years 7, 9, 11, 12 and 13 for the duration of the student’s full-time attendance at the School. Families with four or more students enrolled at ACG Tauranga may apply for the Sibling Scholarships. The scholarships provide assistance towards tuition fees.

  • What additional languages are available to students and from what age?

    Spanish is taught from Year 5 onwards. It is widely spoken in South America, as well as in Europe and the USA. English speakers who learn Spanish as a second language are able to reach a greater level of fluency than with other foreign languages.

  • Does ACG Tauranga have any religious affiliations?

    No, ACG Tauranga is a secular private school. ACG Tauranga’s values are embedded in all aspects of school life and are referred to as a guide for all conduct, attitudes and relationships.

  • How much bigger will ACG Tauranga become?

    ACG Tauranga has all levels from Preschool to Year 13. When full, there will be approximately 700 students on site.

  • What facilities are available?

    Our campus is purpose-built to the highest standards, and poised for future growth. Campus facilities include 14 classrooms, two science laboratories, administrative areas, large multipurpose space with adjoining play areas, brand new three-level gymnasium, sports fields and a new preschool.

  • What extra-curricular activities are available?

    Our co-curricular programme runs each term during break times, lunch times and after school. We offer a range of team and individual sports alongside drama and other interests as the roll continues to grow.

  • Is there a swimming pool at the School?

    There is a swimming programme within the curriculum. Although there are no immediate plans to build a pool, we will utilise the excellent local facilities. The programme could range from everything from water safety for younger children through to a training squad in the Middle and Secondary School.
